On June 16, 2017, 8 a.m. to noon, at Liberty View at Independence Visitor Center, Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society (PBPRS) presents #PowerPR: Strength in Excellence, The Power of Us. The conference, via speakers and panel workshops, will empower and provide communicators, executives, brand managers, students and entrepreneurs the skills they need to be competitive and continue to execute excellence in their profession.The gathering is designed to help PR professionals (and those in similar fields) at every level discussing topics from social media, market trends, jobs, how to break into PR and more. Registration for the conference goes towards helping PBPRS with ongoing programming throughout the year.
The half-day event will celebrate and empower communications practitioners while providing networking opportunities. Conference is for PBPRS members, all professionals (including non-PR professionals) and members of the community to attend. Breakfast will be served! We are also presenting a $500 scholarship.

Francis formerly held roles at the Royal Academy of Art, Royal College of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum and also advised leading cultural organizations in Great Britain. She will share what it takes to handle international, national and local PR and branding for cultural institutions.
LiRon K. Anderson-Bell is an award-winning strategic communications and digital media executive with 20+ years experience across entertainment, consumer products and the pharmaceutical industry. Her specialties are public relations, crisis communications, and digital and social media marketing. She will give you the tools on you need to make sure your social media skills are top notch.
Proud Howard University grad and PR travel expert JENEA ROBINSON is the Senior Media Relations Manager at VISIT PHILADELPHIA. She oversees specialty market communications effort, promoting Philadelphia as top travel destination for African American, Latino and LGBT visitors.
Diana Torralvo is Director of Community Relations and Communication for NBC10 and Telemundo62. In this role she serves as the external communications lead for the two stations and is responsible for raising the visibility of the station in the community throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.
